Ingredients

  • 500g Sarole or Pasta
  • 1 chicken cut into small pieces
  • 2 med. Onions
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 2-3 Tbs. fresh coriander
  • 3-4 Tbs. oil
  • 2 small cinnamon sticks
 
  • ½ Tsp. whole cumin seeds
  • 1 Tbs. ginger/garlic paste
  • ½ Tsp. turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Tsp. cardamom, ground
  • 2 Tsp. fennel, ground (bari saunf)
  • 2 cups thick coconut milk

Method

  1. Boil pasta until tender. Keep aside.
  2. Blend onions, green chilies, and fresh coriander to a smooth paste with ½ cup water. Keep aside.
  3. Boil chicken in 1 cup water until tender and slightly dry. Keep aside.
  4. Heat oil in a large sauce pan or wok and stir-fry cinnamon and cumin seeds for 2 minutes.
  5. Add the blended mixture and stir for 2-3 min. cover.
  6. Add ginger/garlic paste, turmeric and salt to taste. Stir, 1 min.
  7. Now add the chicken and mix well. Cook for 2 min.
  8. Add cardamom + fennel (bari saunf) and let it cook for 2-3 min.
  9. Finally add boiled pasta together with coconut milk. Mix well and let the ingredients cook for 2-3 min Cover the dish for a few minutes before serving.
