Ingredients

  • 400g rump steak or fillet finely sliced across grain
  • 2 Tbs. oyster sauce
  • 1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbs. salted black beans
  • 2 Tsp. corn flour
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 2 Tsp. soy sauce
 
  • 1 Tsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbs. oil
  • 1 Tsp finely crushed garlic
  • ¼ Tsp. ground pepper
  • 1 onion cut in wedges
  • 1 small Red capsicum, cubed
  • 1 small green capsicum, cubed

Method

Please note at all times that as you keep adding ingredients they should be continuously stirred. 
  1. Marinate beef in oyster and Worcestershire sauces in a glass bowl. Wrap with plastic and refrigerate about 1 hr.
  2. Rinse black beans in several changes of water. Drain and mash beans. Keep aside.
  3. Blend corn flour with stock; add soy and sugar. Keep aside.
  4. Heat 1 Tbs. oil in wok and stir-fry garlic, pepper and veggies over high heat for 1 min. transfer to a bowl.
  5. Heat 1 Tbs. oil and stir-fry beef over high heat for 2 min or until meat browns. Add black beans, blended stock mixture and veggies. Stir until sauce boils and thickens.
